UPEI expresses condolences on the passing of UPEI BEd student Cheryl Young
The entire UPEI community was saddened to learn of the passing of UPEI Bachelor of Education student Cheryl Young on January 6, 2021.
Construction in St. Peter’s Bay on track for 2021 completion
UPEI’s Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation, which was announced on July 5, 2019, will serve as a living laboratory in St. Peter’s Bay, PEI, allowing for unlimited access to nearby wetlands, forests, and coastal habitats directly affected by climate change.
Construction began in 2020, and has been continuing throughout the Fall and Winter.
"UPEI is really pleased that we have been able to stay on track with our capital construction projects, despite the pandemic,” said Jackie Podger, Vice-President Administration and Finance.
Canada 150 Research Chair speaks on Artificial Intelligence for Materials Discovery
Prof. Alan Aspuru-Guzik, a Canada 150 Research Chair at the University of Toronto, will be giving a seminar as part of the MMS seminar series on Wednesday at 12:30 titled: “There is no time for science as usual: Materials Acceleration Platforms”.
In his talk, Prof. Aspuru-Guzik will discuss the future of automation in science using artificial intelligence for the discovery of new materials.
