The Psychology Department would like to kick off another season of the 2013–14 Fiona Papps Colloquium Series on Thursday, September 12 at 3:00 pm in AVC Lecture Theatre B. Our first lecture of the series "Why Usually Honest
People Sometimes Steal" is being presented by Dr. Will Cupchik, formerly Psychologist-in-Charge, Forensic Out-Patient Psychological Services,Clarke Institute of Psychiatry, Toronto.

Billets are needed from September 17–21 for students taking part in the 29th annual Canadian National Student Leadership Conference (CSLC) at Montague Regional High School. UPEI will welcome 750 of the CSLC students and approximately 250 advisor delegates on September 20. UPEI is a proud sponsor of this event and would appreciate any support from UPEI staff and faculty.

Representatives from Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry will be on campus on September 19 at 1:00 pm in room 106 of the Health Sciences Building for a presentation and question/answer session.

The Biosafety Committee will meet earlier than usual in the month of October. The next deadline for submitting Biosafety Protocols including new applications, renewals and/or amendments for review at this meeting is Friday September 20 2013. Please ensure that you download and use the current forms from http://research.upei.ca/forms. Use Adobe Reader to complete the forms.
Submit one copy of the original protocol with signatures to 200 Kelley Memorial Building. Those protocols received after the deadline will be reviewed the following month. For more information, please contact Joy Knight at 620-5104.

In Pope Francis' words, "We want to be men and women of peace, and we want in our society, torn apart by divisions and conflict, that peace break out!...peace is a good which overcomes every barrier, because it belongs all of humanity!"
Come and gather around our UPEI Peace Pole - let peace prevail on earth.
