Organize your flights and travel plans! You will book and pay for flights independently. We recommend you always purchase cancellation insurance!
Ensure your courses are picked and approved so they will be transferred back to UPEI.
Message from the Interim President re: former vice-president
The following message was also distributed by email to faculty and staff on behalf of the Office of the President on October 27, 2023.
Dear Faculty and Staff,
I am writing to inform you that, effective October 31, 2023, Jackie Podger, the former Vice-President Administration and Finance, will no longer be an employee of UPEI.
Ms. Podger has been on administrative leave since June. Given that this is a human resources matter, we are not permitted to share details about her departure.

3 months prior to departure - Accommodation and visas
Talk to the Public Health Travel Clinic regarding vaccinations (if needed), or any other pre-health check-ups you might need to have before you go.
4 months prior to departure - Class approvals
During the application process with the partner university, keep the UPEI Study Abroad Office up to date with the status.
5 months prior to departure - Firming up your plan!
After successful submission of your application to the UPEI Study Abroad office, you will be “nominated” to the partner university (where you will be studying).
6–8 months prior to departure - I want to go! What next?

CRA Student Job Applications Drop-In Session
Did you know the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is looking for students on PEI to fill various summer positions in 2024? If you're interested in learning more about working at the CRA or need assistance with your application profile, you can visit CRA ambassador Claire McNeill. She will be hosting a drop-in session on November 1, 2023, from 12pm to 3pm at McDougall Hall, room 227.
UPEI Panthers this Week (October 23–29, 2023)
The UPEI Panther rugby, basketball, hockey and cross-country teams are looking forward to a full week of events at home and away.

AT HOME:
2:00 pm: The UPEI Women's Rugby Panthers go head-to-head against the St. Francis Xavier X-Women for the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) title! The winner-take-all final is a matchup of the top two teams in the regular season. The Panthers completed the regular season 5-1-0 (won-lost-tied), one point ahead of the X-Women (4-1-1).
UPEI students attend Michelle Obama event
Through the generosity of the UPEI Alumni Association and a donor, UPEI sponsored the attendance of 100 students at “A Conversation with Michelle Obama,” which took place in Halifax on October 18.
