Katie Richard and Kamari Scott named UPEI Panther Athletes of the Week

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Athletes of the Week for October 23–29 are Katie Richard (women’s cross country) and Kamari Scott (men’s basketball).

Richard is a third-year science student from Charlottetown, PEI. For the second consecutive season, she was named a second team all-star after a strong run at the AUS Cross Country Championships on October 28 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She finished the eight-kilometre run in ninth place with a time of 32:08.

SEASON PREVIEW: UPEI Men’s Basketball Panthers look for championship breakthrough

As the UPEI Panthers Men’s Basketball team gears up for another exciting season, their goal is to make it to the finals, and there’s more than enough talent on the roster to usher in a new era of success.

With the departure of point guard Elijah Miller, the reigning Atlantic University Sport (AUS) MVP and two-time all-Canadian, the reins have now been handed to fourth-year guard Kamari Scott, who has been with the team the longest and is prepared to lead them forward.
