From one island to another: presentation examines financial crises of Iceland and Newfoundland and Labrador
As cold-water islands with a shared history, Newfoundland and Labrador and Iceland are often compared. This time, researchers are looking at what one island can learn from the other about getting through a financial crisis. They will be sharing their findings at a free online public event on March 30 at 1 pm Atlantic, hosted by the Institute of Island Studies at the University of Prince Edward Island.
UPEI releases campus-wide Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Strategy
In an email message issued to the campus community on behalf of the UPEI Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Steering Committee on Tuesday, March 16, Dr. Kathy Gottschall-Pass, interim vice-president academic and research and Ms. Jackie Podger, vice-president administration and finance, released the first campus-wide UPEI Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy.

Watch as six student entrepreneur teams compete for $45,000 in start-up support!
Join us on Wednesday, March 24, from 7-8:30 pm as six student entrepreneur teams compete for a portion of $45,000 in the first ever UPEI Panther Pitch. Twenty-five teams were selected in January for the competition. They’ll be whittled down to six for the semi-finals, which will be streamed live. Tune in as they make their final pitch and take live questions from the audience and a panel of judges.

Six outstanding researchers awarded UPEI internal research grants
UPEI has awarded Internal Research Grants (IRG) to six outstanding members of the research community. The IRG program supports research pursuits through the funding of fully developed research proposals.
