The Engineers Without Borders UPEI chapter is hosting a Sustainable Future Conference, which is the first Canadian Official United Nations Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) on October 26, at UPEI.
Kejimkujik: History Written in Stone; A Mi’kmaq Petroglyph Exhibit
Join us for the official opening of this beautiful Mi'kmaq Petroglyph Exhibit featuring the artwork of Mi'kmaq Artisan Todd Labrador. Julie Pellisier-Lush, Mi'kmaq Author and PEI Poet Laureate will be offering an oral story telling at the opening. Complimentary tea/coffee will also be provided.
This exhibit is a partnership between the Mawi'omi Centre and the Robertson Library.
MMS Seminar Series: Dr. Saurabh Chitnis
As part of the Molecular and Macromolecular Seminar Series, Dr. Saurabh Chitnis, visiting faculty from Dalhousie University, will be presenting a talk on "Orbital engineering of main-group compounds for new reactivity".
Abstract: Besides steric and electronic tuning, geometric deformation of molecules away from their VSEPR structures offers another way of introducing new reactivity. This talk will focus on the use of geometric deformation as a strategy for eliciting new reactivity with antimony and bismuth compounds.

UPEI Master in Global Affairs celebrates student success
UPEI’s Master in Global Affairs program is celebrating the success of two of its students. Denis Gaudet worked for ten weeks this summer for the Secretariat of Social and Human Development in Oaxaca, Mexico. He led a qualitative research project on indigenous communities in the country’s third poorest municipality to understand the underlying causes of poverty. In addition to this work, Gaudet participated in local and international events exploring numerous communities and cities that were rich in Mexican and indigenous culture.
Korean Movie Night
UPEI Asian Studies-Korean Studies will host the third Korean Movie Night* on October 21 (Monday), beginning at 6 pm in ICC 104. Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds (2017) will be shown in Korean with English subtitles. The film starts at 6 pm, and free light refreshments will be served from 5:30 pm. Everyone is welcome.
