UPEI graduate student wins national Inclusive Culture Scholarship
Aadesh Nunkoo, a Master of Science student at the University of Prince Edward Island, was recently awarded one of two 2025 Inclusive Culture Scholarships by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) and the Actuarial Students’ National Association (ASNA).
Pan-African flag flies over UPEI during Black History Month
The Pan-African flag was raised at UPEI on Monday, February 3, to mark Black History Month by Dr. Greg Naterer, vice-president academic and research at UPEI; Jessica Ekeleme, president of the African Students Association; and Tamara Steele, executive director of the Black Cultural Society of Prince Edward Island.
Members of the UPEI and broader communities, including Dr. Wendy Rodgers, president and vice-chancellor of UPEI, attended the flag-raising. The flag will fly on the campus for the duration of Black History Month.

UPEI residence students provided a sense of community and connection this winter
Each year at UPEI, approximately 150 residence students remain on campus during the break between first semester exams and early January when students return to classes for the second semester. This group of students is comprised of primarily international students who are unable to travel during the holidays to spend time with family or friends.
