Dr. Ross Osmun Piano Recital (Rescheduled)

This recital (originally scheduled for Sept 21), has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 28 at 2:30 pm due to unforeseen circumstances.

A piano recital featuring Visiting Guest Artist, Dr. Ross Osmun, from Bishop’s University, performing works by Mozart, Debussy, Ravel, Rachmaninoff, and Liszt.

Ulysses String Quartet with Sung Ha Shin-Bouey

On Friday, September 26 at 7:30 pm, the multiple international award-winning Ulysses String Quartet, based in New York City, will perform with soprano Sung Ha Shin-Bouey, professor of voice at UPEI. This recital will take place on the SDU Stage at Steel Recital Hall.

Admission is $30 Adults, $10 Students. Tickets can be purchased in advance at upei.universitytickets.com, or by cash at the door.

Accessible parking is available, and the theatre has an accessible entrance via elevator.

Robertson Library Kitchen Party!

The Robertson Library at UPEI is set to host their first-ever Kitchen Party on Saturday, September 27—a fundraising event in support of the “Love Our Library” campaign as well as a celebration of the Library’s 50th anniversary. The event will be held upstairs in the Reading Room from 7:00 to 10:00 pm with live music by Roy Johnstone, Rob Drew and Harmony Wagner. There will also be a cash bar and light refreshments.

Admission to the event is free, but donations to the Love Our Library campaign will be gratefully accepted. Those 19 years of age and over are welcome to attend.

UPEI to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

At UPEI, we have a responsibility to support and advance truth and reconciliation on September 30—the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation—and throughout the year. 

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also referred to as Orange Shirt Day, is a day to “honour Survivors, their families, and communities, and ensure that public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process.” (Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada).

Kayla Batchilder and Luc Doucette named UPEI Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Source for Sports Athletes of the Week for September 16–22 are Kayla Batchilder (women’s field hockey) and Luc Doucette (men’s cross country).

Batchilder is a third-year kinesiology student from Charlottetown, PEI. She wasted no time making her mark on the new season, lighting up the Atlantic University Field Hockey tournament, which was held at UPEI, with eight goals across four games on September 20 and 21.

2025 Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament takes place September 26 to 28

The UPEI men’s and women’s basketball teams are set to compete at the annual Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament. The tournament features nine teams from across Canada and runs from Friday, September 26, to Sunday, September 28.

The women’s pool includes Université Laval, Cape Breton University, Toronto Metropolitan University, and UPEI. 

The men’s pool includes Université Laval, Dalhousie University, Saint Mary’s University, Cape Breton University, Toronto Metropolitan University, and UPEI.
