Until further notice, ITSS will prioritize fulfilling orders for computers for new employees (who do not have an existing system available to use) and those whose computers are completely non-functional. All other new requests for system upgrades under this program will be held for the time being.

With regards to existing, outstanding requests for computers which have been slated to be replaced under the new Computer Deployment and Replacement process for 2017/2018, IT Systems and Services (ITSS) is receiving quite a number of inquiries regarding the status of individual requests. ITSS thanks you for your patience as we continue working through these requests as quickly as we can (trying to catch up to the demand), with priority being given to new employees (who do not have an existing system available to use) and those whose computers are completely non-functional. As systems are ready ITSS will be contacting you to schedule a time to receive your equipment.

ITSS apologizes for this inconvenience and appreciates your continued support and patience.

Ethics protocols that involve ‘more than minimal risk’ must be reviewed by the full UPEI Research Ethics Board (REB).

Please note: The REB does not meet during July or August so protocols involving ‘more than minimal risk’ that are submitted in July and August will be held until September for review at the September 2018 meeting. Other ethics protocol submissions, including new applications that do not involve ‘more than minimal risk’, renewals, and amendments may be submitted at any time. They will be sent for delegated review as soon as all necessary forms are received.

Please ensure that you download and use the current forms from http://www.upei.ca/research/forms. Use Adobe Reader to complete forms. Submit the following:

  • one hard copy of the signed application form and associated documents to Joy Knight at the Office of Academic and Research, 200 Kelley Memorial Building and
  • one e-copy of all documents to reb@upei.ca

For more information, please contact Joy Knight at 620-5104 or reb@upei.ca

Join us at our Library Talks to chat about PEI author Michael Hennessey’s book The Betrayer, a fictionalized account of the crimes leading up to the last hanging to take place on Prince Edward Island, in 1941. Two condemned men are led to the gallows - but was the crime committed by "the third man"?

Meetings will be held on Thursdays @ 3pm in the Early Women Plaza, between Kelley Building and the Chaplaincy Centre. Rain location is in Robertson Library. The introductory meeting will be held on Thursday, July 19, and meetings will continue weekly until August 23.

A limited number of copies of the book are available from the Service Desk in the Library – first come, first served. Check out a copy and join the group. Everyone is welcome!

And, in August, we’ll go on a walking tour of Charlottetown to discover where the gruesome murder took place!

This workshop consists of two face-to-face sessions (July 31 and August 31, 12:00-1:00 PM, Rm 292 Robertson Library) with the remainder of events, occurring between those sessions, online. Register early as space is limited for this workshop. REGISTER
