UPEI Asian Studies-Korean Studies will host a Korean Movie Night* on October 29 (Monday), beginning at 6 pm in ICC 104. A fantastic Korean zombie movie Train to Busan (Directed by Dr. Yeon Sang-ho, 2016) will be shown in Korean with English subtitles. The film itself starts at 6 pm, and free light refreshments will be served from 5:30 pm. Everyone is welcome.

BlackBoard Collaborate is web conferencing software that allows instructors to do many things to engage with their students. Use BlackBoard Collaborate to record your teaching for days when your face-to-face class has been cancelled. Share your PowerPoint or use the interactive whiteboard, BlackBoard Collaborate allows you to set up a complete virtual classroom. It’s simple, easy and reliable. Offered by the E-Learning Office, this workshop will take place on Monday, November 5th from 10:30 am to 11:30 am in Room 265 of the Robertson Library. REGISTER

The Faculty of Science Graduate Studies Committee invites the UPEI community to the next seminar of the Environmental Sciences/Human Biology Series: Dr Pierre-Yves Daoust (Atlantic Veterinary College) will be presenting a talk entitled "The Inuit's right to kill bowhead whales".

This event is Friday, October 26 at 12:30 in Duffy Science Centre room 204.

Art for the Soul (drop in)

Drop in Art - bring your own supplies and take some time to create!
pencils, crayons, paint, knitting, etc... all are welcome!

No prior experience necessary

This is an open event, bring your own art supplies and take a few minutes for yourself!
You do not need to be creative to participate, just have an interest in expressing yourself! 
This is the 2nd event - bring your ideas and suggestions for future Art for the Soul meetings! 

Open to Staff, Students, and Faculty. This event is Tuesday, October 30 from 1 to 3:00 pm in the Chaplaincy Centre. 

The UPEI Music Society will be hosting its annual Haunted House event this year on October 26 and 27 from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm in UPEI's Steel Building. This event is the music society's largest fundraiser, with proceeds going towards student scholarships. Cost is $8 per person, with a discounted rate of $5 for students. Guests can also bring non-perishable food items for $1 off admission price. A bake sale will be available at the door. During this event, the entire Steel Building is transformed into a haunted house and filled with UPEI Music Department students as scarers. Parental discretion is advised for young children. 

You are invited to join Nautilus Biosciences, members of the PEI Bioscience Cluster, and International guests for a ribbon-cutting and official opening of Nautilus Biosciences as Croda's Centre of Innovation for Marine Biotechnology on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 10:00am in the DRC Lobby.

Be a part of this exciting event for the UPEI spin-off company and learn how PEI is building capacity within the biotechnology community. Tours of the high throughput robotic screening lab will follow the speakers.

Special guest speakers will include: Sandra Breene, President, Personal Care, Croda International PLC; Honourable Robert Mitchell, Minister of Health and Wellness; Dr Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, President, UPEI; and Dr Russell Kerr, Research Fellow, Nautilus Biosciences.

Have a coffee, relax and chat with other parents while we entertain your kids with the Let's Talk Science program. This event is Saturday, October 27 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in Dalton Hall room 514.

Walking meditation is much different than your typical walk in the park! It is done much slower than normal walking and involves you to connect with your breath or specific focusing practices. UPEI students, staff, and faculty only.

Learn the basics of the fitness centre. Pre-registration is required for this event. Meet on the 2nd floor of the Sports Centre. Half hour session starting at 12:30 pm AND 5:00 pm.

In today’s environment of competing demands, relentless commitments, and a consistent feeling of shortage of time, balance often does not come easily or naturally. A conscious effort, deep commitment, and clear priorities are required to create and protect one’s sense of balance. This session will help participants explore how their current choices impact their work-life satisfaction and help them to develop strategies to achieve a greater balance in life. UPEI students, staff, and faculty only.

The December 2018 exam period runs from December 5th - 15th, with three exam periods daily 9:00 am, 2:00 pm, and 7:00 pm For more information on exams, please review Academic Regulation #13.
