Reviewing a teaching dossier and files for tenure and promotion

This session is designed to prepare colleagues to review teaching dossiers as part of the tenure and promotions process at UPEI. We touch on applicable clauses from the collective agreement, consider elements from EDI training, and discuss how to think about and assess teaching contributions. There will also be time to ask questions of colleagues with experience serving on the URC about best practices, and guidelines for reviewing a tenure or promotion file.

Lunch and Learn: OERs and alternatives for licensing Indigenous OERs

Join librarians Courtney Matthews and Kim Mears for a Lunch and Learn session focused on Open Educational Resources (OERs) and some alternatives for licensing Indigenous OERs. They'll start with the larger OER conversation and how OERs benefit students and the academy, share resources for finding existing OERs, and then take a look at the local UPEI OER context. There will be ample time to discuss details that specifically support OER creation for Indigenous researchers and educators. 

Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre to host webinar series

The Sir James Dunn Animal Welfare Centre (SJDAWC) at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island, is pleased to announce its 2024 Webinar Series.

The series will take place on March 12, 19, and 26 from 4 to 5 p.m. Atlantic Time, and will feature Dr. Karen Overall, professor of behavioural medicine, Department of Health Management, AVC.

Faculty and staff take on UPEI Women’s Hockey in fundraising game March 14

On March 14 at 3 pm, the campus community is invited to MacLauchlan Arena (Rink A) at the Bell Aliant Centre to watch faculty and staff take on the UPEI Women's Hockey Panthers in a fun fundraising game. Come cheer on student-athletes and colleagues in what is sure to be an entertaining display of hockey greatness. Admission is free, but “admission by donation” is encouraged to support the women's hockey program.
