Vehicles Deadly In Hot Weather - A Message from Security Services
On hot days, without proper ventilation, vehicle interiors can reach deadly temperatures in just a few minutes. Please ensure that those who are most vulnerable are not put in jeopardy, the very young, the elderly, and family pets. Please share this message! (Last Thursday, good Samaritans and UPEI Security rescued a dog that had been in a vehicle for well over an hour.) Allen E.S. New UPEI Research Blog Post: The economics of aquaculture
When Dr. Ian Gardner took up the position as the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Aquatic Epidemiology http://www.cerc.gc.ca/chairholders-titulaires/gardner-eng.shtml, he knew he was joining an already strong team of researchers at UPEI’s Atlantic Veterinary College. “Truly, that was part of the appeal for me,” says Dr. Gardner. “The expertise here in fish health and veterinary epidemiology is second to none in the world.” That’s why Dr. Gardner likes to refer to the group around him as the CERC team: a group of researchers—each a leader in her or his specific area. “One area I thought the CERC team could expand to was economics,” says Dr. Gardner. “That’s why I am pleased to say we’ve acquired just that expertise in Dr. Kehar Singh.” Read the rest of the story at: http://research.upei.ca/blogs/2013/07/04/economics-aquaculture

Reminder: New Moodle in September; Multistage Rollout Continues!
As we are about to move to a new Moodle in September, our multistage rollout continues! Our first stage continues with another 5-week summer session in what's new and better about the new Moodle! The sessions run from July 8-August 9 meeting face to face once a week and have some online exercises to be completed between sessions.
