UPEI’s Lucy Maud Montgomery Institute (LMMI)’s 11th biennial conference—“L.M. Montgomery and War”—will take place June 25–29 in Charlottetown. The conference will include open discussions on war, conflict, the Canadian Home Front, gender roles, and more.
Keynote speakers include distinguished historian Jonathan Vance; Montgomery scholar, LMMI founder, and former UPEI President, Elizabeth “Betsy” Epperly; and Canada Research Chair Irene Gammel. In addition to the full conference program, there will also be a public exhibition at the Confederation Centre of the Arts Public Library entitled “The Canadian Home Front: L.M. Montgomery’s Reflections on The First World War,” curated by Dr. Laura Robinson of the Royal Military College. “Maud of Leaskdale,” a fantastic one-woman play will also take place at the Carrefour Theatre in Charlottetown during the conference, and much more!

UPEI’s Languages at Work program—a part of the Explore Program—takes place from June 30–August 22, and invites you to get involved by hiring a qualified bilingual student eager to improve their language skills in a working environment.
Not only does this program provide students with an excellent opportunity to be immersed in their second language, it also gives employers the opportunity to hire these employees at a lower cost during the peak tourism season as the students’ salaries (plus benefits) are 60% funded by the program!
Interested employers must provide students with a meaningful work experience, along with appropriate guidance and orientation, for 35 hours of work per week.

Dr. Babaii's presentation is entitled: "Not Just 3D Printing! Promises, Challenges and Opportunities," and will take place on Wednesday, June 4 at 11:00 am in the Health Sciences Building, room 106.

There will be an internet service interruption on Thursday, May 29 beginning at 4:00 pm and lasting up to one hour (5:00 pm). This interruption is necessary to allow changes to be made in the provider for UPEI's internet service. Services affected will be external access to UPEI web services, Library research database access, VPN, availability of the UPEI webpage, access to Moodle from off-campus, and possible email delays. Access to Google, Microsoft, Apple, and other large content providers should not experience any significant interruptions as these providers are served through a different connection that should not be affected. ITSS regrets the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause.
