Members of the campus community are invited to join President Alaa Abd-El-Aziz,CIO Dana Sanderson, and Ellucian representatives at a project kick-off event on Tuesday, September 29 at 11:00 am in Schurman Market Square, Don and Marion McDougall Hall. The event will shed some "light" on the cross-campus, transformative project formerly known as ERP. We'll announce the "Name that Project" winner and reveal the new project name for the initiative that deals with the changing and developing of many UPEI processes and the supporting technology that interacts with them. Coffee, cake, and conversation will be served! All are welcome.
The public presentation by Professor Allen Ross, M.D., Ph.D., FRCPath, FACTM, Professor of Tropical Medicine and Global Health at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia previously scheduled for Thursday, October 1 has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. We apologize for any inconvenience.
On Friday, October 2, 2015, the PEI Quakers in cooperation with the UPEI Chaplaincy Centre will sponsor “A Simple Meal: So That Others Might Eat.” This free meal is open to UPEI university students, faculty and staff, with a suggested donation of $5-10, payable in either cash or canned foods. All foods and/or funds collected will be donated to the UPEI Food Bank.
The meal will take place at the UPEI Chaplaincy Centre from 12 noon to 2:00 pm. The menu will consist of Cuban beans & rice, a salad, beverage and fruit.
During the meal, at 1:00 PM, Ann Wheatley, a founding member and current co-chair of the PEI Food Security Network will speak on the topic of food security and how it impacts Islanders. Ms. Wheatley is also a member of Cooper Institute, where she works on projects related to livable income, inclusion and food sovereignty. Much of her work involves engaging with community, and helping to ensure that all people have a chance to make their voices heard in agency and governmental decisions and policy-making that impact our lives.
The next presentation in the Human Biology and Environmental Sciences seminar series, hosted by the UPEI Biology Department, will take place on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 12:30 pm in the Duffy Science Centre, Room 204. Mark Leggott, Robertson Library will present: “Open Data, VREs and RDMPs: The brave new world of open science.” All are welcome!
