Both the Hatha Yoga for Stress Release class and the Yoga Stretch and Meditation class are FULL. No wait list. Updates on these offerings in the Fall will be promoted in August. Stay tuned!

Please note that we do have a Karma Class on Tuesdays at noon that takes place all year round. 

The Karma Yoga class is held every Tuesday from 12:10–12:55 pm at UPEI Chaplaincy Centre or in summer (weather permitting) we have it outside in Quad area. Please bring your own mat. Fee: Fee for each class is a donation to the UPEI food bank - $5 or food donation.

The UPEI Brass and Woodwind Summer Studios 2019 will take place June 24-29 in the Steel Building. This week-long chamber music workshop is an exciting opportunity for motivated young brass and woodwind students aged 14-18 to hone their musicianship, improve their technique, and meet like-minded young musicians. Students take part in individual lessons with UPEI music faculty, enjoy group rehearsals and performances, and participate in creative workshops, all within the welcoming environment of the UPEI Department of Music. Open to flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba students.

The Department of Physics invites the campus community and members of the public to view the Sun through a solar telescope. The telescope will be set up outside the FSDE Building main entrance. Drop by to see the features of the Sun safely and learn about our nearest star. Viewings will be held every second Wednesday, 12:30-1:30pm, starting June 5, depending on weather. Games are compelling for young and old alike. Adding game elements to your course is one way of enhancing your students' engagement. In this workshop you will learn about basic game elements and how they can be used both in online and face-to-face teaching environments. Be sure to bring a set of headphones or earbuds with you. This workshop takes place on Wednesday, June 19th from 10:30 to 11:30 am in Room 265 of the Robertson Library. REGISTER

The Hatha Yoga for Stress Release class is full (June 13 - July 4). 

A Yoga Stretch and Meditation class with Pam will be held on Mondays, 12:10 pm - 12:55 pm, June 10, 17 and 24. There are 5 spots available. Participants must pre-register by contacting Angela Marchbank at amarchbank@upei.ca. NOTE: participants in the Hatha Yoga for Stress Release class are not eligible to attend the Yoga Stretch and Meditation class. 

These free yoga and meditation classes are provided to UPEI staff & faculty by the Healthy Campus Committee as part of the Employee Wellness Strategy.

 

The Department of Health Management invites the campus community to a seminar by Dr. Kerry Kuluski. 

Dr. Kuluski is a Scientist at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, Sinai Health System, in Toronto, Ontario. She is also an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (University of Toronto). She is an Applied Health Services Researcher and a Social Worker by training. She received her PhD in Health Services and Policy Research from the University of Toronto followed by a Postdoctoral Visiting Fellowship at the University of Oxford. At the U of T she supervises graduate students and teaches a foundational course on Canada’s health care system. Her research focuses on quality and health system performance from the perspectives of people with multimorbidity and their caregivers in the contexts of community based primary health care, homecare, hospital care, Alternate level of Care and transitions between care settings. She uses multi methods, including co-design to understand what is required for care services to be person centred.

ITSS will be migrating our commercial Internet service to Eastlink during our regular Wednesday maintenance window on June 5 starting at 8pm to 9pm.

During this time there will be intermittent Internet access entering or leaving campus. Access within the campus will be unaffected.
