Join us for a five-day summer chamber music experience for brass, woodwind, percussion, and piano students, aged 14–18.
The daily schedule runs from 9:00 am–3:00 pm, June 28 to July 2, 2021 in the Steel Building on the UPEI campus. (Participants will need to bring a lunch.)

Meet Darvin Patel, Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Design Engineering graduate
Darvin Patel graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Design Engineering degree in May, 2021. Originally from India and possessing a diploma in mechanical engineering, Darvin found UPEI's Sustainable Design Engineering program was an exceptional next step to reach his full potential.
UPEI lowers flags to half-mast to honour children of former residential school
The entire UPEI community was dismayed to hear the news of the discovery of remains at a former residential school in Kamloops, BC. Flags on the UPEI campus will be flown at half-mast until sunset on June 8 to honour and grieve the lives of the 215 First Nation children whose remains were found in unmarked graves.
UPEI Convocation 2020 AND 2021
The University of Prince Edward Island conferred degrees, diplomas, and certificates to more than 950 graduates as part of Convocation 2021 celebrations.
This year’s celebrations were unique in the history of UPEI. We were unable last year to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2020 due to the pandemic. This year, UPEI offered a hybrid online and in-person experience to celebrate the graduates of the last two years.
Faculty of Science Online Presentation of Graduates
The Online Presentation of Graduates for the Classes of 2020 and 2021 will allow all graduates to celebrate Convocation from the comfort of their own homes with their loved ones on PEI, across the country, and around the world. The Chancellor of the University, the Hon. Catherine Callbeck, will provide remarks; the Dean of each respective faculty will present the graduates virtually; and graduates will see their photos appear on screen as faculty members announce their names. A Valedictorian from each Faculty will also address their fellow graduates during this presentation.

PEISO presents A Mighty Wind: Music for Brass and Organ
The PEI Symphony Orchestra is presenting a special concert event on June 6 in Charlottetown and on June 13 in Summerside, featuring music for organ and a brass ensemble led by retired UPEI brass professor Dr. Gregory Irvine.
