New research examines the possibility of stabilizing the Greenland ice sheet
A new study argues there is still time to stabilize the Greenland ice sheet before climate change melts it forever—but the clock is ticking for us to take action. The study, led by Dr. Xander Wang, an associate professor in UPEI’s School of Climate Change and Adaptation, is published in the American Geographical Union’s journal Earth’s Future.

Paige Chisholm adds leadership and experience to Panthers cross-country program
The last time a St. Francis Xavier University graduate and cross-country runner was accepted into UPEI’s esteemed Atlantic Veterinary College, the Panthers’ cross-country team captured Atlantic University Sport (AUS) bronze.
In 2017, 23-year-old Lee Wesselius came in as a veteran runner and guided the men’s team to their first-ever medal. Now, four years later, Paige Chisholm is looking to do the same for the women.
Men’s Hockey Panthers add scoring threat in former Owen Sound Attack forward Kaleb Pearson
After AUS all-star Kameron Kielly decided to go pro in 2020–21, the UPEI Men’s Hockey Panthers lost firepower. But Panthers head coach Forbes MacPherson is hoping his latest recruit can help fill that void.
Enter Kaleb Pearson, a 21-year-old right winger with a knack for putting the puck in the back of net.
“I think my greatest strength as a hockey player would be my offensive ability and awareness,” Pearson said. “I’m a guy who wants to win. I can help by making plays and scoring goals and I hope to be part of the team that brings a championship back home to PEI.”
