The UPEI Health and Wellness Centre has received a grant from the provincial government’s 2024–2025 LIVE WELL PEI Wellness Grant Program to educate UPEI students about reducing harms related to alcohol through awareness campaigns and education modules.
The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) Global Women’s (and Allies) breakfast (GWB) will be held at the Fox & Crow, W.A. Murphy Student Centre, on February 11, 2025, from 7:00–9:00 am.

The Pan-African flag was raised at UPEI on Monday, February 3, to mark Black History Month by Dr. Greg Naterer, vice-president academic and research at UPEI; Jessica Ekeleme, president of the African Students Association; and Tamara Steele, executive director of the Black Cultural Society of Prince Edward Island.
The UPEI Hockey, Basketball and Track and Field Panthers are looking forward to a week of competition at home and away.
Each year at UPEI, approximately 150 residence students remain on campus during the break between first semester exams and early January when students return to classes for the second semester. This year, the UPEI International Student Office, in cooperation with Student Affairs staff, Campus Life Advisors, Residence Life, and the UPEI Alumni Association, supported and organized some activities for these students during the break, providing a sense of community and connection.
Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Athletes of the Week for January 27 to February 2, 2025, are Alaere Peterside (women’s track and field) and Jakob Robillard (men’s hockey).
UPEI will celebrate Black History Month 2025 with a variety of events, and activities, including the raising of the Pan-African flag at the flag plaza near Kelley Memorial Building on Monday, February 3, at 11:30 am.
The second in the series of President's town halls in the winter semester will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, and will provide opportunities to share examples of success, what we are proud of at UPEI—and to shine some light!
