UPEI Panthers this Week (February 3–9)
The UPEI Hockey, Basketball and Track and Field Panthers are looking forward to a week of competition at home and away.
Wednesday, February 5
AT HOME:
7:00 pm: The UPEI Women’s Hockey Panthers host the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues at MacLauchlan Arena.
AWAY:
7:00 pm: The UPEI Men’s Hockey Panthers play the Saint Mary’s University Huskies in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Friday, February 7
AT HOME:
6:00 pm: The UPEI Women’s Basketball Panthers host the University of New Brunswick Reds at the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre. The theme of this game is “Shoot for the Cure” in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Funds raised at this event will help fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer, and saving lives. Donations can also be made online at Shoot for the Cure.
7:00 pm: The UPEI Women’s Hockey Panthers host the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women at MacLauchlan Arena. This game will be themed “Pink in the Rink” and will include fundraising activities in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.
8:00 pm: The UPEI Men’s Basketball Panthers host the University of New Brunswick Reds at the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre.
AWAY:
The UPEI Track and Field Panthers compete at the Saint Mary’s University Open in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Saturday, February 8
AT HOME:
7:00 pm: The UPEI Men’s Hockey Panthers play the Acadia University Axemen at MacLauchlan Arena. This is “Alumni Night,” an annual tradition celebrating past UPEI Men’s Hockey players. This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the 1984–85 Panthers winning the Atlantic University Athletics Association (AUAA) championship title.
AWAY:
6:00 pm: The UPEI Women’s Basketball Panthers play the Dalhousie University Tigers in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
8:00 pm: The UPEI Men’s Basketball Panthers play the Dalhousie University Tigers in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
