Women's Health - April 12 at 12:30, McDougall Hall, Room 246 Presented by a Murphy's Pharmacist, the presentation will provide information to motivate participants to take control of their own health. The pharmacist will provide an overview of statistics around common chronic health conditions for women, provide information on hormones and your health, prevention and screening, nutrition, physical activity, and caring for your family’s health needs. Beginning Saturday, April 27, a new authentication requirement will ensure a safe, secure experience in the event users forget their password for U.S. Bank Access® Online. The first time they log in after the enhancement date, they will be asked to choose and respond to three security questions. These will be used to verify their identity if they are unable to access their account. Program and site administrators will have visibility into users’ information so that they can provide quick assistance. Convocation exercises will be held in the Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre on Saturday, May 11, 2013. The first ceremony will begin at 10:00 am when approximately 450 students will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Education in Human Resource Development, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality, Bachelor of Business Studies, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Master of Science (Veterinary Medicine), Master of Veterinary Science, Master of Education, Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Philosophy. Certificates will also be awarded in Accounting, Business, Adult Education, Inclusive Education and School Librarianship. The second ceremony will begin at 2:30 pm and it is expected that more than 450 students will be graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Applied Arts in Print Journalism, Bachelor of Music & Music Education, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Child & Family Studies, Bachelor of Wildlife Conservation, Bachelor of Integrated Studies, Bachelor of Applied Science in Radiography, Diplomas in Engineering and Public Administration, Master of Arts, Master of Science (Science) and Certificates in Public Administration. The academic procession will leave Duffy building for the first ceremony at 9:40 am, and the procession for the second ceremony will leave Duffy at 2:10 pm. As in past years we will need to know the numbers for seating purposes. It is imperative to note that no issue of regalia will be made on convocation day. NO EXCEPTIONS. Shiv veer Singh Chauhan, chemistry MSc student, UPEI will present a seminar on Thursday, April 11 at 12:30 pm. The presentation is entitled “Microbubbles Generation and Their Application In Diagnostics & In Therapeutics." The seminar will be held in Room 128 in the KC Irving Chemistry Centre.
From April 9 to 18, the fitness centre will maintain usual hours, but access to the gyms and walking track will be limited to the hours listed below. Our auditors require that goods charged to the 2012-13 budget must be invoiced and received on or before April 30, 2013 and as such, requisitions will be reviewed for acceptability prior to the April 19, 2013 cut-off date. 2. Goods invoiced or received after April 30, 2013 will be charged to the next fiscal year (2013-14). The April 19, 2013 cut-off date will be strictly enforced, so please make your plans now for the remaining weeks of the 2012-13 fiscal year. 3. The deadline for submission of hours for students or other hourly rate employees to be charged against the 2012-13 fiscal year is noon, Wednesday, April 24, 2013. The Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre will be hosting the UPEI convocation. Hours will be reduced Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11. The building will close Friday at 5 pm and reopen to the public on Sunday at 12 noon.
