As a result of the 2013-14 submitted budget, Research
Services anticipates that the UPEI internal research funding program will
be placed on hiatus for the 2013-14 fiscal year. Until further notice,
applications to the following research grants committee programs will not
be accepted:
· Bridge Funding Grant
· Collaborative Research Grant
· Discretionary Grant
· Major Research Grant
· New Scholars Grant
· Travel Grant
The following programs are outside the scope of Research Services'
budget and will continue to be offered:
· Self-funded/Sabbatical Program
· Sessional Instructor Grant Fund
· SSHRC Institutional Grant (however, intake deadlines may be
altered depending on level of SSHRC funding for 2013-14)
We recognize the value and importance of the internal funding program and
anticipate that it will be reinstated in some capacity by 2014. In the
interim, the suite of programs offered by the research grants committee
will be reviewed by the committee and the VP Research, with a focus toward
determining the most appropriate mechanisms for distributing funding in
order to meet both the committee’s mandate and the needs of the campus
community.
A further notice will be circulated after the budget decision on May 9.
