MITACS - ONE DAY ONLINE COURSE - TIME MANAGEMENT
SUPPORTED BY SYNAPSE
9 am - 5 pm
This energetic, intensive one-day course will sharpen your professional time management skills and optimize your working week.
Course Objective - review and apply relevant time management processes within a project management context. We will also cover successful productivity optimization and performance improvement tactics. Ww will focus on professional scenarios from individual and team perspectives.
The tactics shared in this course can improve your ability to focus, follow through, take effective action, manage your energy, schedule with increased accuracy and agility, and help ensure a more successful outcome
To register for an in-person (Zoom session) course:

2. After you sign in, click on "Catalog" tab on your dashboard
3. You can then search and register for the course you are interested in by clicking the "Enroll" tab

The Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering is delighted to announce the Call for Applications for the third offering of ProGRES at UPEI this summer.
ProGRES (Promoting Girls in Research in Engineering and Sustainability) is a summer research opportunity at the FSDE at UPEI for high school girls going into grades 11 and 12. The selected students will work on their own independent research projects with a woman faculty researcher, graduate student, or undergraduate student, who will be the ProGRES student’s direct mentor. Throughout the five-week period, the selected ProGRES students will also have other unique opportunities to learn what Engineering is, and what engineers do, on a daily basis.

These three days are a celebration of the accomplishments of our graduate students and their research efforts. Over the course of the three days, graduate students from multiple faculties will present their research orally.
Opening ceremonies are schedule to begin at 9:00 am on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. Students (undergraduate and graduate), researchers, and faculty are encouraged to attend as much of the conference as their schedule permits.
Most activities will occur in McDougall Hall, in the Alex H. MacKinnon Auditorium and Schurman Market Square. There is a no-cost registration to facilitate planning and communication to participants.

The deadline for Animal Care Protocol Submissions (new, renewal, or amendment) is Friday, June 7th for the June meeting.
Ensure you download the current forms from http://www.upei.ca/research/research-services/research-certifications/animal-care, use the most current Adobe Reader to complete forms (only current forms will be accepted). To view any UPEI ACC SOPs and Codes of Practice, they can be accessed through myUPEI at https://portal.upei.ca/facultystaff/administrativeservices/AVCAnimalCare/Pages/default.aspx.
Both the signed hard copy and electronic protocol submission must be submitted by the deadline date.

Those protocols received after the deadline will be reviewed the following month. The Committee requires at least one month for processing applications.

This workshop, co-hosted by Synapse, UPEI's technology transfer and commercialization office (www.synapsepei.com) and Mitacs, a national,not-for-profit organization that has designed and delivered research and training programs in Canada for 20 years. This comprehensive two-day course offers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need enhanced training as a work requirement (high risk areas).
Cost of registration will be covered by HSE for all UPEI faculty and staff, including students who require training for on-campus employment. Students who do not require training for on-campus employment are welcome to attend; however, the cost of registration will not be covered. Please note, lunch will not be provided.

The UPEI Health & Wellness Centre wishes to invite you to come and be "scanned". In partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society, we are hosting a Sun Safety Clinic/Coffee Break on May 14th from 10:00-12:30 pm. There will be a 30-minute presentation at 10:30 am (repeated at 12:00 pm) and you will be able to put your head in the sun scanner to find out if you have experienced skin damage from the sun. Drop by between 10:00-12:30 for coffee, a scan and presentation.
