Are you a geographer by training or by research interest? UPEI has an opportunity to host the 2019 Atlantic Division of the Canadian Association of Geographers (ACAG) conference in Charlottetown in the Fall of 2019. Before I provide an answer to the Association I'd like to see if there are other geographers (or geographers at heart) out there who might be interested in helping host this event. If so, please contact me (Jim Randall, Island Studies, jarandall@upei.ca or 902-620-5013) by January 10th. This is a great opportunity to network with other regional faculty and graduate students who approach their research from a geographical perspective. I look forward to hearing from you.

Speaker: Walaa Nasry, Pathology and Microbiology
Title: Hypoxia and cyclooxygenase related mechanisms as therapeutic targets for oral squamous cell carcinoma
This event is Tuesday, January 8 at 3:30 in room 205N (Lecture Theatre B) of the AVC.

Happy New Year!! With the new year we have a new contract beginning here on campus. ISI (Interuniversity Services) has awarded the shredding contract for Maritime Universities to ShredIt.
There will be no interruption of service as ShredIt will be utilizing the consoles from our previous vendor. Shred Guard had completed their last pick up on their contract in December. We are awaiting further details about frequency and prices. We will let the campus community know as soon as we have the contract finalized with UPEI.

If you are interested in joining our monthly pick up program please contact Procurement Services at procurement@upei.ca.
