Help us celebrate the University's 50th anniversary during Homecoming Week and enjoy free food, 50th anniversary swag, music and more! In the event of inclement weather, we'll move into Schurman Market Square, MCDH.

All are welcome!

The University of Prince Edward Island lost a great friend in the Reverend Joseph Charles "Father Charlie" Cheverie, LLD when he passed away on August 31, 2019.

In a statement to the University community on September 1, UPEI President and Vice-Chancellor Alaa Abd-El-Aziz expressed condolences to Father Charlie's family, friends and colleagues, and described his immense impact. Father Charlie was an alumnus, donor, professor emeritus, former chaplain, and founder. Read the full story

Members of the campus community are invited to join Dr. Linyuan Guo-Brennan and Dr. Charlene VanLeeuwen for a research presentation community-based learning and international students.  The presentation will be approximately 45 minutes followed by a 10 minute question period.

Increased global mobility has allowed more and more students to pursue graduate education overseas, and many are engaged in community-based learning (CBL) through formal or informal educational opportunities.

Based on a mixed-methods case study conducted in the context of UPEI's M.Ed with Global Perspectives Program, the presentation shares the impact of CBL on international students’ academic, sociocultural, personal, and professional development and discusses the benefits and challenges unique to international students in community-based learning.

All are welcome!

There are a number of students who are still contacting the UPEI Off-Campus Housing Office inquiring about housing options due to the low vacancy rate in greater Charlottetown. We hope that you may be able to help in addressing this challenge.

We encourage members of the UPEI campus community to consider renting a room in their home to a UPEI student in need. The average rate for a room rental (furnished with utilities included, but not including food) is between $400-$700 a month. If you (or your extended family) have accommodations available—whether it’s a room in a primary residence or other suitable space—we would appreciate you letting us know. If you are able to assist, please:

  • visit www.places4students.com and post an ad as all students seeking accommodations are being directed there, and,

  • complete this form to be included in the internal off-campus housing list for students.

Thank you in advance for considering our request!  Not only will you be helping with the housing shortage, but you will also provide a welcoming, safe environment and get to know a student from another part of Canada or the world.
