Campus Notices
Thought of moving some of your teaching online but don't know where to
start?
We've planned two, half days over the break to introduce you to some of the
possibilities. Faculty from around campus have been invited to show you
what they are doing online. There will also be support staff to give you a
sense of what services you can use to help you get started.
The sessions will take place from 1:00-4:30 pm on February 19 and 9:00 am-12:30 pm
on the morning of February 20. The sessions will be held in
McDougall Hall 328 with light refreshments provided.
There is no cost for the sessions, but faculty are invited to register with
the Centre for Life-Long Learning via email Lisa Mackinnon-Laybolt at:
lmmackinnon@upei.ca
We also want to make it clear that the session is divided in two parts and
are both meant to be attended.
In recognition of the outstanding performance of our faculty and staff and
their dedication to students and community—on-campus, provincially, and
globally— a number of annual awards have been created to acknowledge their
efforts and achievements, and to celebrate their contributions to our
success as an institution.
Up to 10 Presidential Awards of Merit for UPEI Faculty and Librarians and
four Presidential Awards of Merit for UPEI Staff will be awarded in 2013
and presented during a celebration of colleagues to be held on Monday, May
6, 2013. Location and time will be announced soon.
Ryan Johnston, Director of Human Resources will lead the process and chair
the committees to select award recipients.
Nominations for both faculty and staff awards close on March 8, 2013.
For further details on the awards and the nomination process, please visit:

The UPEI Healthy Campus Committee, in conjunction with the Fair Treatment
Office, invites all students, staff, and faculty, and the broader community
to wear pink on Wednesday, February 27, to raise bullying awareness and
help make our campus a respectful and safe place to learn and work.
In Canada, anti-bullying is promoted by wearing pink on the last Wednesday
of February to symbolize a no-tolerance policy on bullying. Last year, 6.4
million people took part in “Pink Shirt Day.”

campus community is invited to dance together to support the movement.
Where: McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre

than one billion women and girls. One billion women and those who love them
