Astronomy Public Viewing
Come see some of the marvels of the night sky through our 8-inch telescope at the UPEI observatory. Potential viewing objects include the Moon, planets, nebulae, and galaxies. Volunteers from the Charlottetown Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) and the UPEI Physics Department will be on hand to show you the sights and answer your astronomical questions.
Our next viewing is scheduled from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Saturday, November 15. Guests are asked to come to Memorial Hall, room 417.

This event is free of charge and open to all members of the public.
It is necessary to climb the stairs from the 4th floor up to the observatory, but an elevator can be taken up to the 4th floor.
Charlottetown Islanders honour UPEI Men's Soccer
Join the Charlottetown Islanders as they honour the UPEI Men's Soccer team on the ice for their recent CIS Bronze medal at the 7:00 pm game on Saturday, November 15 at the Eastlink Centre. UPEI men's soccer coach Lewis Page and captain Adam Lowther will take part in a ceremonial face off.
All UPEI staff and faculty get a buy one get one free admission with a valid UPEI ID (all season).
Wind Energy Institute of Canada Research Program presentation
Dr. Marianne Rodgers, Wind Energy Institute of Canada will present a seminar on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 12:30 pm. Dr. Rodgers’s presentation is entitled “Wind Energy Institute of Canada Research Program". The seminar will be held in the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre, Lecture Theatre, room 212.

Student Showcase Recital
The UPEI Music Department Recital Series 2014-2015 is pleased to present its first Student Showcase Recital featuring UPEI Music Majors in performance. The recital will feature performances on trombone, clarinet, voice, saxophone and flute and will include works by Weber, Hindemith, Massenet, Strauss, Osborne, Handel and others. The recital will take place at the Kirk of St. James on Pownal Street, Charlottetown at 7:30 pm Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Admission is FREE.
PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada Info Session
Join the PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada (PEI ANC) on Friday, November 21, 3:00-5:00pm, in Kelley Building, room 210 for an information session on its services for international students enrolled in university and college programs in PEI. Settlement Worker, Rosalie Blanchard, will present the information and answer questions. Topics include: how to register with PEI ANC and access its services, study permits, letters of permission to work off campus, permanent residency, employment services, community inclusion initiatives, and more.
