Medical Education Opportunities for Physicians in Prince Edward Island

We are working towards the establishment of the UPEI-Memorial joint medical degree program. Until then, we are hosting a regional campus of Memorial’s medical school. Accepted applicants will receive a degree from Memorial University while fully completing their medical studies at the UPEI campus.

PEI students will benefit from Memorial’s high accreditation standards, which include an award-winning curriculum, assessment, student services, and comparable learning experiences. In partnership, Memorial University and the University of Prince Edward Island are committed to excellence in teaching, innovation, and fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.

We are seeking physicians interested in medical education to join our team to help shape the future of medical education in Prince Edward Island.

Career Pathways:

1. Clinician Preceptors
   • Positions typically range from 5–10% full-time equivalent (FTE)
2. Clinician Educators (Leadership Roles)
   • Positions usually range from 10–60% FTE
3. Clinician Administrators (I.e. Associate Dean)
   • Positions are typically up to 80% FTE
4. Clinician Scientists
   • These positions may occur in the future
   • Typically, 40–50% clinical and 50–60% research for 100% FTE
