In this news release, the Atlantic University Sport conference releases its revised regular season schedule for winter 2022, including the schedules for the UPEI Men's Hockey, UPEI Women's Hockey, UPEI Men's Basketball, and UPEI Women's Basketball teams.

Dr. Patrick Murphy, an assistant professor in the UPEI Department of Biology, has received a $300,000 grant through the Canadian Cancer Society’s 2021 Atlantic Cancer Research (ACR) Grants competition for research into breast cancer.

A team led by Dr. William Montelpare, Margaret and Wallace McCain Chair in Human Development and Health at UPEI, has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the federal government’s Immunization Partnership Fund (IPF) Program for a project to develop and implement a vaccine support program for Prince Edward Island.

Thanks to a graduate scholarship from the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute (BHCRI), a UPEI graduate student will be pursuing research on breast cancer. Olivier Philips, an MSc student with Dr. Patrick Murphy in UPEI’s Department of Biology, is the first UPEI recipient of a graduate scholarship of $29,750 through BHCRI’s Cancer Research Training Program (CRTP).
