Students, staff, and faculty were informed on Wednesday, September 14, that UPEI will observe a one-time statutory holiday on September 19 in observance of a National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. UPEI Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for September 5–11 are Emily Duffy (women’s rugby) and Salem Farag (men’s soccer).

Researchers with UPEI’s Health and Wellness Centre and Recreation PEI are seeking participants for the free lifestyle intervention program known as Canadian Health Advanced by Nutrition and Graded Exercise (CHANGE).

Dr. Xiuquan (Xander) Wang, an associate professor in the UPEI School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has been named a member of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) College of New Scholars.

On Thursday, September 8, UPEI students will go door to door in the Sherwood neighbourhood from 5–7 pm to collect non-perishable food for the UPEI Campus Food Bank.

The UPEI Women’s Rugby Panthers look to send shockwaves across the league this season. After a stunning victory against the St. Francis Xavier X-Women in the 2021 home opener that culminated in a 3-3 record and a U SPORTS top-10 ranking, the players believe that this is their year.
