Premier Dennis King, Health and Wellness Minister Ernie Hudson, and Education and Lifelong Learning Minister Natalie Jameson visited the construction site of the University’s new health education building and health and wellness clinic on February 3, accompanied by UPEI President and Vice-Chancellor Greg Keefe and other University officials.
Dr. Greg Keefe, interim president and vice-chancellor of UPEI, and Tamara Steele, executive director of the Black Cultural Society of Prince Edward Island, raised the Pan-African flag on the campus on Wednesday, February 1, to mark Black History Month. About 25 people attended the flag-raising.

On January 6, 2023, the UPEI Health and Wellness Centre earned a Primer Award from Accreditation Canada, making it the first university health centre in Canada to achieve this accreditation. The Primer Award is the first step in the journey to full accreditation and ensures that the centre has the fundamentals of safety and quality in place.
