UPEI received notice on November 7, 2022, from the government-appointed conciliator that conciliation meetings between UPEI and the UPEI FA will resume November 23.

Noa Mendelsohn Aviv, executive director and general counsel of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA), will present the 2022 Chief Justice Thane A. Campbell Lectureship in Law on Thursday, November 17, at 12 noon, at the Delta Prince Edward Hotel in Charlottetown.

| Atlantic Veterinary College

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island is recruiting horses for a new study that will investigate equine metabolic syndrome (EMS).  

| Speakers

The Institute of Island Studies at UPEI will host a public lecture titled “Enshrined: Island Tourism and the Confederation Story” on November 15 at 7 pm in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building.

Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for November 1–6 are Orianna MacNeil (women’s hockey) and Elijah Miller (men’s basketball).

| Special Event

The UPEI Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS), the Faculty of Arts, and the English department, in collaboration with the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, are sponsoring an evening of Indigenous poets from Epekwitk (PEI) reading selections from their poetry and conversing about their work as Indigenous writers. The event will take place at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre on Queen Street at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22.

A presentation to the 2022–23 recipients of the Straight Arrow Truth and Reconciliation Awards took place in the Mawi’omi Indigenous Student Centre at Dalton Hall, UPEI, on Tuesday, November 1. This year’s recipients are Nicole Lodge and Will Abbott.
