Dr. Trevor Jain, director of UPEI’s Bachelor of Science in Paramedicine program, is the recipient of the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians’ (CAEP) 2023 Emergency Physician of the Year (East-Urban) Award and the 2023 Dr. Alan Drummond Advocacy Award.

The month of June in Canada has been officially acknowledged as National Indigenous History Month since 2009, in recognition of the rich history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

Sixty international students and graduates from the University of Prince Edward Island, Holland College and Collège de l'Île learned about employment supports and immigration opportunities available on PEI during an event held on June 8 in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre at UPEI.

The University of Prince Edward Island will host an international Asian Studies conference from June 22–23, 2023, in the Faculty Lounge, SDU Main Building.

Each year, the UPEI Co-operative Education Program recognizes its exceptional students and employers with the UPEI Co-op Awards. Winners of the 2022 awards are Nandisha Ramsurrun, UPEI Business Co-op Student of the Year; Aadesh Warren Nunkoo, UPEI Science Co-op Student of the Year; and Dr. James Polson, UPEI Department of Physics, Co-op Employer of the Year. The awards were presented on May 24, 2023, at a ceremony in Schurman Market Square, Don and Marion McDougall Hall, UPEI.

The Study & Stay PEI program celebrated the achievements of 86 international students from the University of Prince Edward Island, Holland College, and Collège de l'Île at a graduation ceremony held at UPEI on June 3, 2023.
