The following message was issued by email on June 15, 2023, to students, staff, and faculty on behalf of the Office of the President.

Dear Members of the University Community,

The following changes are being made to the senior executive team at the University of Prince Edward Island:

  1. Effective June 13, 2023, Jackie Podger, Vice-President Administration and Finance, is on administrative leave.

  2. Effective June 15, 2023, Tara Judson, Comptroller, will serve as acting Vice-President Administration and Finance.

  3. Effective June 15, 2023, Sue Connolly, Associate Vice-President, Human Resources and Legal, will serve on an interim basis as Vice-President, People and Culture.

The Vice-President, People and Culture is a new position that was announced yesterday as a first step in developing a new organizational structure for the University. The new V-P will have responsibility for Human Resources; the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Office; and the Sexual Violence, Prevention, and Response Office (SVPRO) and report directly to the President. A search process for this position will be initiated as soon as possible.

I thank Tara and Sue for agreeing to serve in these roles as we make changes to improve support for our employees and the students we serve, enhancing our ability to deliver on the commitment we have made all members of the University community—to create a safe, respectful, fair, and inclusive environment that reflects our values.

Regards,

Greg
