AVC staff recognized at annual Ice Cream Social
The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) celebrated staff members during its annual Ice Cream Social and honoured a retiree for their years of service.
The Dean’s Awards of Excellence were presented to four outstanding members of the team who were nominated by their colleagues and peers in recognition of their remarkable contributions to AVC. Congratulations to Holly Burnley (Health Management department), Jackie Matheson (Technical Staff, Veterinary Teaching Hospital), Tammy Johnston (Anesthesia), and Tracy O’Flaherty (Health Management) who were nominated by their peers and supervisors. Their dedication to advancing learning and animal care made them stand-out leaders for this year’s awards.
“We are fortunate to have incredible staff members who make a difference every day in supporting teaching, research, and service,” said Dr. Dominique Griffon, dean of the AVC. “It’s wonderful to see them being recognized by their peers and celebrated for their accomplishments.”
Mike Hogan retired earlier this year after nearly 40 years in his role as an animal care attendant. His colleagues shared fond memories of his time at the AVC and expressed how thankful they are for his decades of service.
