If you have difficulty carving out uninterrupted time for writing, if you struggle with motivating yourself to write, or if you would simply like the supportive collaboration of a writing retreat, consider Time to Write, UPEI's faculty writers retreat. When: Monday, May 20 to Friday, May 24. Where: Stanley Bridge Resort Cost to participants: $200, which includes four nights' accommodation, meals and snacks. How will climate change impact our roads, bridges, and sewers? Join us for a free workshop, Planning for Risks Under a Changing Climate. From waterfronts to roads to bridges to storm sewers, there will be speakers from across the Atlantic region talking about how jurisdictions have adapted their major infrastructure to future climate changes. The event is topped off by a climate change video produced by Mount Allison University Professor Ian Mauro starring many Islanders identifying how they have already experienced the impacts of climate change. Bernardine Hall Brick repointing will begin on Bernardine Hall north side on Thursday, May 2 at 4:00 pm. The repointing project will be completed during evenings and weekends, and will last for approximately four weeks. Blanchard Hall Amber Masonry began working on the upgrade of Blanchard Hall building envelop today, Tuesday, April 30. This work will take approximately six weeks to complete. The Accounting Department will be accepting invoices, travel & expense claims, etc for processing in the 2012/13 fiscal year until May 13, 2013. All documentation submitted must be dated on or before April 30, 2013 in order to qualify for processing in the 2012/13 fiscal year. Join us on Tuesday-Friday (April 30-May 8) for a 30-minute walk around campus. Amanda Embleton & Brittany Gallant, third-year nursing students working with Athletics & Recreation, are forming a walking club on campus. They will meet each day in the quadrangle area in front of the clock. They'll be walking and talking about various health topics including proper walking posture, warning signs of stress, heart health, the importance of sleep, etc. This program is free and we hope to see a big turn out...so, step away from your desks at noon time!!!
