There will be a UPEI biosafety training session: Tuesday, June 4 1:00 to 4:00 pm The McCain Foundation Learning Commons (Room 286A), AVC Topics to be covered include biosecurity plan training as well as basic biosafety principles and how they are applied at the University of Prince Edward Island. Please note: only those who attended the training sessions in December 2012 or February 2013 are currently considered to be “up to date” in their training requirements. The UPEI Graduate Student Association (GSA) is placing a call for nominations for executive members and representatives for the upcoming GSA election. The positions which are open for nomination include: • President • Vice-President Internal • Vice-President External • Vice-President Finance • Media Relations • AVC Representative • Business Representative • Science Representative • Arts Representative • Education Representative • Nursing Representative Nominations can be emailed to bdeziel@upei.ca at the chief returning office and should include the candidate’s name, and the position that they are running for. Nominations are due by May 24 at 4:30 pm. Questions regarding the eligibility of candidate and the duties and responsibilities of positions on the GSA can be directed to Eric McCauley at emccauley@upei.ca. The campaign period for elections will take place beginning at 9 am on May 27, and will close on May 31 at 9 pm. The election will begin on June 3 at 8 am and will close on June 4 at 8 pm.
