The role of the Security Services is to protect and provide for the ongoing safety of the people, property, and information resources of the university community and to provide students, faculty, staff, and visitors with a secure environment in which to live, work, study, and play 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Security Services will promote and provide support for security and safety-related matters and will provide services to deter undesirable behaviour and enforce University policies, procedures, and regulations.

Security Services will work in partnership with the University’s other safety-related internal departments such as Health, Safety, and Environment; the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office; the Department of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Human Rights; Student Affairs; and IT Systems and Services.

Security Services will work in partnership with any external safety services such as police, fire department, ambulance, the PEI Emergency Measures Office, etc.

Security Services can conduct investigations on campus to support internal or external departments as mentioned above. 

Investigations by Security Services can be in support of municipal, provincial, and federal Acts or to support University policies, procedures, and regulations.

Security Services will assist in any emergency.
