Master of Arts in Island Studies student Tristan Atkins will defend his thesis entitled "Embracing community values and culture in academia: A community-based evaluation of a high-efficiency woodstove pilot project on the Island of Ponds, Nunatukavut," on Friday, April 11, 10:00 am-noon, in SDU Main Building, Room 211. Supervisor is Dr. Nick Mercer (Island Studies/Environmental Studies), with committee members Dr. Jean Mitchell (Anthropology) and Dr. Debbie Martin (Dalhousie University).
