Academic Integrity Week October 17 to 21

The week of October 17 to 21 is Academic Integrity Week, and the International Day of Action Against Contract Cheating falls on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.  Here's the line-up of activities that UPEI has organized to recognize this event: 

  • Webinar —"The Intersection of Academic Integrity and Mental Health: From Resources to Policies," offered by the Taylor Institute, will explore ways to address academic integrity while supporting student mental health and well-being in the classroom environment and beyond. 
  • In–person Lunch and Learn for Instructors —Learn how the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) applies when there are suspected or actual breaches of academic integrity. Learn what information can be shared, with whom and why with Patti Wheatley, UPEI FOIPP Officer, on Wednesday, October 19, at 12:30 pm, in the Teaching and Learning Centre, Robertson Library Annex, Room 230.
  • A handy resource —"Student Academic Integrity: A Handbook for Academic Staff and Teaching Assistants" is a guide that will help you understand academic integrity throughout the semester.   • Webinar —Compliments of the Manitoba Academic Integrity Network (MAIN) Speaker Series, "Positive Interventions in the Age of Contract Cheating" with Dr. Thomas Lancaster, Senior Teaching Fellow, Computing, Imperial College London, UK.
  • Especially for Graduate Students and Postdocs— A workshop on "Paraphrasing and Academic Integrity" in the Teaching & Learning Centre, Robertson Library Annex, Rm 230, October 20, at 12:00 pm
  • The Campus Life Program will host a Jeopardy session during the week for undergraduate students.
