The UPEI Health and Wellness Centre is providing three days of flu shot clinics for all students, faculty, staff and families. There is no charge for the flu vaccine. Children must be over the age of two (2). The clinics will be held as follows:

October 23, 2020:  9:00 am–3:30 pm

October 26, 2020:  1:00 pm–8:00 pm

October 27, 2020:  9:00 am–3:30 pm

In addition, there will be an AVC Flu Shot Clinic on November 4, 2020, from 12:00 pm–7:00 pm  in the AVC McCain Foundation Learning Commons Atrium for AVC faculty, staff, students, and their families.

There are no individual appointments; instead, we will provide the vaccine on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will follow the direction of the Chief Public Health Office and maintain physical distancing. If there are more than 50 people waiting you may need to wait outside or come another time. Please note the following.

  • Masks are mandatory in all UPEI buildings.
  • Read the fact sheets (used with permission from Public Health Nursing, Health PEI) before you come for your vaccine. They are located on the UPEI Health and Wellness Centre webpage: https://www.upei.ca/health-centre/flu-vaccines
  • You must be prepared to stay for 15 minutes following your vaccine.
  • Children less than 24 months old must be vaccinated by Public Health Nursing and you will need to make an appointment.
  • Children under nine (9) years old who have never had a flu vaccine will require a second vaccine in one month.
  • The FluMist (intra-nasal) vaccine will be available for those aged 2–17, as well as the Fluzone High-Dose vaccine will be available for individuals over 65 years of age.
  • If you have a fever or other symptoms of COVID-19, do not come to the flu shot clinics. Contact 8-1-1 for advice and direction.

Protect yourself and others.........Get the flu shot, not the flu!!
