Title: Field imaging and deep learning for plant phenotyping

Speaker: Mark Eramian (University of Saskatchewan)

Plant breeders want to create crop varieties with physical traits, also known as phenotypes, that increase crop yield so we can feed more people. Image-based plant phenotyping potentially offers more objective observations, higher throughput, and denser sampling compared with manual plant phenotyping by humans in the field allowing breeders to make better selections. This talk will present highlights of research into field imaging and breeding plot phenotyping being conducted by the Deep Learning for Plant Phenomics team, part of the Plant Phenotyping and Imaging Research Center at the University of Saskatchewan.

All are welcomed to attend!
