HPV Prevention Week

The UPEI Health and Wellness Centre will be hosting a HPV (Human Papillomavirus) awareness booth outside McMillan Hall on Monday, October 7 from 11:00am-2:00pm. Approximately 75% of sexually active Canadians will have at least one HPV infection in their lifetime, and it can affect all ages. Please drop by to learn more about the most common sexually transmitted infection in the world today and find out how you can reduce your risk of developing the types of cancer associated with HPV. 

A brief HPV Awareness presentation will take place Monday, October 7 at 12:30pm in Room 238 of the Health & Wellness Centre (above the bookstore)Bring your lunch and learn some quick facts on HPV!

A limited number of free HPV vaccines will be available in the Health and Wellness Centre from 1:00pm-3:30pm on Monday, October 7, on a first-come-first-serve basis, for eligible PEI health card holders who meet criteria to receive the vaccine (visit our booth to find out if you are eligible). Participants must be agreeable to receiving the full series of three vaccines at 0, 2 and 6 month intervals. Additionally, students with UPEI insurance now have great coverage to help cover the cost of their vaccines.
