We are seeking a research assistant to conduct digital scans of botanical demonstration models to render digital images with three-dimensional viewing capabilities for educational purposes. Applicants should have prior experience working with scanning technology and imaging software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess suitability of demonstration models for three-dimensional scanning
  • Set-up, operate, and maintain scanning equipment
  • Process scans to render digital images with 3-D viewing capabilities
  • Make resulting images available as open educational resources (OER)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • UPEI Graduate Student in good standing
  • Independent research experience 
  • Experience working with scanning as well as graphic imaging software

This position is covered by a Collective Agreement between the Public Service Alliance of Canada and the University of Prince Edward Island. Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students.
