Sessional Instructor - Department of Biology - Faculty of Science - Winter 2025
The Department of Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Lecturer during the forthcoming Winter 2025 semester, subject to final budgetary approval. Individuals qualified to teach the following course are encouraged to apply by August 15, 2024.
WINTER 2025
BIO 1020 – HUMAN HEALTH
(Classes: Monday 3:30 – 6:20 p.m.) WEB
An introductory course dealing with the structure and function of the human body as the biological foundation of human health and disease. Course topics will include a survey of human organ systems and prevalent diseases of the adult human, introducing concepts of disease prevention and wellness.
Three hours lecture a week
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a field of science/biology related to the respective course content. Documented experience teaching these courses would be a definite asset.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.
SALARY: As per Sessional Instructor Stipends outlined in the Collective Agreement of the UPEI Faculty Association, Bargaining Unit #1
