Director of Finance - Comptrollers Office
$136,623 to $151,472 per annum
The Finance Director is a senior-level finance administrative position responsible for overseeing the financial management and operations within the university. This role reports to the Comptroller and provides oversight and strategic planning of the Financial Services, Procurement Services, and the management of financial systems and policies to ensure alignment with the university's goals and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee planning, organization and strategic direction of the financial operations of the university
- Liaise cross-functionally with other key department directors to ensure alignment with the university’s mission
- Provide leadership in policy development that supports the financial activities of the university
- Oversee processes to support regulatory and legislative reporting responsibilities
- Oversee the development of Business Continuity Plans for financial service units
- Financial liaison between finance and human resource/payroll functions
- Provide senior leadership in reviewing and making recommendations to optimize the university’s financial processes, management and software tools
- Implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and enhance reporting capabilities
- Support customer service and communication strategies for financial processes and procedures
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy processes operate optimally in financial systems by conducting regular reconciliations and audits
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business and a CPA designation
- Minimum of five years in a leadership position in finance
- Experience working in university setting
- Must be a relationship builder and work effectively throughout all levels of the University and with external partners
- Strong knowledge of accounting and procurement processes, financial systems and internal controls
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to EDI principles and experience in implementing EDI initiatives
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders
