Educational Consultant - Office of Academic and Student Affairs-Atlantic Veterinary College
$74,230 to $82,297 per annum, prorated to time and term
ASAP one year term. Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and department requirements.
The Office of Academic and Student Affairs at the Atlantic Veterinary College is currently accepting applications for a 0.4 FTE Educational Consultant. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs of the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) and works collaboratively with college faculty. The responsibilities of this position facilitate the Standards of Accreditation as per the American Veterinary Medical Association’s (AVMA) Council on Education (COE).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outcomes and Curriculum Mapping
Identify and define learning outcomes for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program
Develop and implement a preclinical and clinical curriculum map
Align course outcomes with the AAVMC Competency-Based Veterinary Education framework
Curriculum Committee Support
Compile and analyze survey data on program outcomes
Provide consultation to course coordinators
Prepare reports for the Curriculum Committee on programmatic outcomes
Faculty and Student Educational Support
Serve as a key contact for faculty seeking instructional support
Organize faculty workshops on instructional design and assessment
Offer expert feedback on didactic and clinical teaching methodologies
Assist faculty in developing effective assessment techniques
Contribute to the creation of educational resources for students and recruitment efforts
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s or Professional Degree in Education (Advanced degree preferred)
Minimum of five years of relevant experience in educational development
Experience in curriculum design and pedagogical techniques
Strong expertise in learning outcomes and assessment methods (including multiple-choice and practical assessments)
Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven experience building relationships with faculty and students
