The Office of Recruitment is looking for an energetic and motivated individual to lead our recruitment and first year transition support team. We are seeking applications from qualified individuals to provide leadership and support for domestic and international recruitment and first-year registration and advising staff.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Reporting to the Director of Recruitment and liaising with the international student office, this role will lead the recruitment team on various recruitment planning initiatives and implementation of the plans. The incumbent will work closely with other campus units to gather information and recommendations relevant to the university’s recruitment and retention efforts. The position oversees the planning and implementation of the strategic plans for recruitment and transition support of first-year domestic and international students. The incumbent will participate in consultation work with the strategic enrollment committee. 

Supervise and implement recruitment and new student engagement activities in

the areas of: 

  • Leadership & Strategy Development
    Strategic planning and participation in recruitment activities in PEI and other regions in Canada and other countries; Monitor prospective student inquiries and provide updates on student application, documentation. and admissions status for the applicants; Gather information on enrollment trends and identify measures to improve enrollment and conversion rates. 
  • Strategic Team Management
    Follow guidance by the university strategic planning committees, mentor and supervise a team of recruiters in the Recruitment Office; Manage human resource tasks; Manage recruitment and orientation event budgets and related assets for the team in the most cost-effective ways. 
  • Outreach & Strategic Engagement

Liaise with the admissions office to follow up on application files; Collaborate with the international student office to support new international students; Support recruitment partnerships such as articulation and transfer agreements and partnerships. Participate in other collaboration and consultation work with other campus units.     

  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    Manage and supervise leads data entry into the university CRM/Recruit system (Zendesk, etc.) to ensure clear, transparent, and efficient processes. Create enrollment data reports and develop measures to engage students and increase conversion rates of the applications. Create and support student engagement activities, such as Open House and High School Counselors Day; Organize and coordinate registration events for prospective students and provide data and reports on the events.
  • Participation in recruitment association events and represent UPEI at regional and national recruitment activities and share the updates with the campus community. Performing other related duties as required for efficient functioning of the recruitment office.

   

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree program in related areas with at least 3 years of related professional experience in advising and recruitment; experience in supervising and managing recruitment activities required.   
  • Experience in student recruitment, new student advising, and student engagement activities for both domestic and international students.
  • Experience in management of recruitment staff and student staff       
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; Proved, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; Strong public speaking skills. 
  • Experience with student transitional experience from high school to university learning environment and experience with adult learners. 
  • Ability to accomplish tasks under pressure and to deal with challenges in interpersonal relationships 
  • Experience in cross-cultural communication and event coordination and management 
  • knowledge and skills in database analysis and data management
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize task in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with the university environment, experience with CRM software, and familiarity with UPEI recruitment work, academic regulations and procedures would be considered strong assets

A valid driver’s license for the use of UPEI vehicles and the ability to travel domestically and internationally
