Permanent Track Position - Clinical Librarian

With a diverse population of more than 5,000 students from over 90 countries, the University is best described as a research-intensive primarily undergraduate university, offering traditional programs, professional programs, and interdisciplinary opportunities. There has been recent growth in health-related programs including a new Faculty of Medicine with the first in-take of students planned for the fall of 2025.

The Robertson Library is the only university library on Prince Edward Island, has a reputation for innovation, and supports “open” approaches to information - open-source software development and use, open access, open data, and open education resources. Over 30 knowledgeable employees – librarians, support staff and student staff – provide users with the excellent resources and services that they need to further their teaching, learning, and research.

They will participate in providing support, expertise and instruction for librarian-related aspects of knowledge syntheses and other types of research projects in support of teaching, learning and research at the University of Prince Edward Island.

As a member of the Robertson Library team, the Librarian engages in professional practice, scholarly and professional development activity, and university, professional, and community service. The individual assumes responsibility for coordination of staff and the work of the unit, services or projects as required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. The nature and scope of responsibilities for this and other library positions are expected to change as the Library organization evolves.
