PA Level 9 – Solutions Analyst - Information Technology Systems And Services
$77,145 to $84,760 per annum, as per CUPE 1870

Working as part of the Information Technology Systems and Services (ITSS) Microsoft 365 Project Team, the Solution Analyst is a technical position assisting with system implementations, integrations, and administration of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The Solution Analyst will work on the development of solutions that support continuous improvement, workflow and data management needs. The ideal candidate will have technical skills and related work experience, but recent graduates with very strong technical skills will be considered. This position may be eligible to work remotely part of the time, that will be dependent on assigned duties along with department requirements and will be reassessed periodically.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing, documenting, and making operational, solutions based on organizational needs and standards
- Gathering and analysing user requirements to then design functional specifications for solutions
- Develop custom workflows and processes to automate business operations
- Develop solution test plans and procedures for moving solutions into a production state while complying with internal change control policies
- In collaboration with the team, contribute to the development of Microsoft 365 best practices
- Work within ITSS development standards, cyber security policies, data privacy practices, governance frameworks and processes
- Analyse business risk and recommend mitigation strategies
- Supporting operation of enterprise Microsoft 365 ecosystem
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
- Proficiency supporting operation of Microsoft 365 Teams & SharePoint systems
- Proficiency with developing solutions based upon Microsoft enterprise platforms including Microsoft 365, EntraID and Active Directory
- Experience with Microsoft 365 data management policies and procedures
- Communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and ability to adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
- Ability to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
- Customer service skills are required
ASSETS
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and the Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Forms)
- Proficiency with PowerShell, especially as applied to the administration of Microsoft 365 environment and process automation
- Experience in data classification, privacy, and security
- Experience in requirements gathering and business process mapping
- Experience with project management practices
- Experience working in an academic institution
- Proficiency with one or more programming languages and web-based solution development platforms (e.g. PHP, node, Vue.js, JSF, Python, JavaScript)
- Experience writing SQL queries and experience with platforms like SQL Server, MySQL, etc.
- Knowledge of enterprise-level applications, including ERP, CRM, data warehouses, etc.
- Experience in report writing and data analytics, with ability to build operationally relevant dashboards
