The Department of Health Management at UPEI is looking for a Student Research Assistant in Applied Veterinary Epidemiology. The student will assist with a funded research project aimed at dog health.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist in drafting and reviewing survey questions related to dog health

· Support the ethics review and other compliance applications as needed

· Input survey questions into Qualtrics or other online survey tools

· Perform descriptive and basic statistical analyses on collected data

· Draft reports summarizing research findings

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must be currently enrolled or have completed a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program or equivalent (at least a current 3rd-year student in DVM program)

· Strong knowledge of preventive care and diseases common in Cavalier King Charles Spaniels breed

· Previous research experience in applied epidemiology, ideally including survey development, familiarity with online survey software (e.g., Qualtrics) appropriate statistical analysis

· Excellent writing and research skills

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
